Dr. Jeffrey P. Gold has served as chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) since 2014. A tireless supporter of Nebraska, he is equally indefatigable in his dedication to academic medicine. Prior to joining UNMC, Dr. Gold served as Chancellor of the University of Toledo’s Health Science campus, at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Gold graduated from the Cornell University College of Engineering before earning his medical degree from the Weill Cornell College of Medicine. His graduate medical education included a surgery residency at The New York Hospital and Memorial Hospital; and a cardiothoracic residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Gold serves as a volunteer for numerous organizations that address both education and health. He is a past chair of the ACGME Board of Directors and has held leadership roles within the American Medical Association and the Liaison Committee for Medical Education. Dr. Gold has directed UNMC’s outreach to Tongji University in Shanghai, currently committed to pursuit of ACGME International accreditation.
